Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2, 2026
EZMetaSearch ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website ezmetasearch.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous user identifier: We generate a random, anonymous ID stored in your browser's localStorage. This ID contains no personal information and is used solely to manage search sessions. It is not linked to your identity in any way.
- Usage data: We may collect standard web analytics data such as pages visited, time spent on pages, browser type, device type, and referring URL. This data is aggregated and not tied to any individual.
- Search queries: Queries you submit are sent to third-party AI model providers to generate answers. We do not permanently store your search queries or associate them with any personal identity.
Information you provide voluntarily
- Waitlist email: If you choose to join our Pro waitlist, you provide an email address. This email is stored solely for the purpose of notifying you when the Pro tier launches. You can request removal at any time.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require account creation or login.
- We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information.
- We do not collect or store passwords.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies we use
- Google AdSense cookies: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may place cookies on your browser to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Google Analytics cookies: We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous traffic data. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
localStorage
We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store an anonymous session identifier. This data never leaves your browser except as part of search requests and contains no personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the search service
- To display relevant advertisements via Google AdSense
- To analyze site usage and improve the Service
- To notify waitlist subscribers about new features
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google AdSense: Advertising. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics: Website analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- AI model providers (including Google Gemini, OpenAI, and others accessible via OpenRouter): Your search queries are sent to these providers to generate answers. These providers process queries according to their own privacy policies. We do not send any personal information to these providers -- only the text of your search query.
5. Data Sharing and Selling
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not engage in data brokering of any kind.
We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be used to identify any individual.
6. Data Retention
- Anonymous user IDs: Stored in your browser's localStorage until you clear your browser data. We do not retain these server-side.
- Waitlist emails: Retained until the Pro tier launches and notification is sent, or until you request removal, whichever comes first.
- Search queries: Not permanently stored. Queries are sent to AI providers in real time and are not logged on our servers.
7. Your Rights (GDPR and CCPA)
For users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Because we collect minimal data and do not create user accounts, there is very little personal data associated with your use of the Service. If you provided a waitlist email, you may request its deletion at any time by contacting us.
For California residents (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.
8. Children's Privacy
EZMetaSearch is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
